Description
Exterior design
The design of the NIO EC7 is already very familiar to everyone, and continues the second-generation design language, with the iconic “watchtower” layout remaining the same as the ES7. The iconic Double Dash daily lamps are further extended along the edges of the Shark Nose, making them even sharper, and the front headlight clusters have been enhanced with the addition of a high-gloss black silhouette, making them even more refined and appealing. The Shark Nose is one of the key reasons for the car’s low wind resistance, which is officially claimed to be the world’s lowest, at just 0.230 cd.
As a coupe SUV, the NIO EC7 has the high seating position and large space of an SUV, but also meets the needs of consumers who are looking for the elegance and sportiness of a sports car. The new car has a perfect coupe SUV stance, with the front and rear roofline intersecting in front of the B-pillar, shifting the visual center of gravity forward to create a forceful forward momentum, while the long wheelbase and rear overhangs create a spacious back curve while ensuring space in the rear. In terms of body dimensions, the NIO EC7 has a width and height of 4968*1974*1714mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2960mm, positioning it as a purely electric medium and large 5-seat SUV.
As NIO’s first production model to adopt the active lifting rear wing, NIO EC7 creates a visually sporty look and improves the overall air power performance of the vehicle. The active lifting rear wing has two modes, automatic and manual. The automatic mode is divided into two gears: the drag reduction gear activated at 80km/h reduces the drag by 4% (10counts) and achieves a minimum drag of 0.230cd; the control gear activated at 170km/h can completely counteract the rear lifting caused by the difference between the upper and lower flows of the vehicle at high speeds; and it can provide 63kg of power to the rear at a rapid speed of 200km/h. At 200km/h, it provides 63kg of overall downforce. The manual mode allows users to control the tailgate gears via the center console: Off, Damping, Maneuvering, Auto.
Interior Features
Inside, the new car continues the consistent cabin design concept of the second living room, and the interior design as a whole creates a wrap-around visual feeling and a reassuring overall atmosphere. As NIO’s next-generation digital cockpit, the NIO EC7 adopts Qualcomm’s third-generation digital cockpit computing platform, including the standard HUD enhanced flat view display system across the board, a 10.2-inch HDR instrument screen, a 12.8-inch AMOLED center display with a resolution of 1728*1888 and a 6.6-inch HDR multifunctional control screen at the rear to achieve multi-screen interaction.
In addition, the new car is also equipped with all-new Normalized Sport Comfort Seats and the newly upgraded King Passenger Seat, including 6 16-way adjustments for the main driver’s seat, 7 18-way adjustments for the passenger’s seat, 4 10-way adjustments for the left rear seat, and 3 8-way adjustments for the right rear seat. The front seats come standard with heating, ventilation, massage and back relief; the rear seats come standard with heating, back relief and optional ventilation and massage. The newly upgraded King Co-driver can realize a zero-empowerment comfortable seating position (one-touch comfort mode), providing the most comfortable lounging conditions for users.
In terms of assisted driving hardware, the equipped NIO Aquila NIO Ultra Sensing System has a total of 33 high-performance sensors, including a 1550nm LIDAR, seven 8-megapixel cameras, four 3-megapixel surround view cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic radars, two high-precision localization units, a Vehicle-Road Collaboration Sensing, and an Enhanced Primary Driver Sensing.Adam The NIO supercomputing platform comes standard with four NVIDIA Drive Orin X chips with 48 CPU cores, 256 matrix computing units, 8,096 floating-point computing units, a total of 68 billion transistors, a total computing power of up to 1016 TOPS, an ISP that can process 6.4 billion pixels per second, and an ultra-high-bandwidth data network of 32GB per second as well as an independent and complete redundant backup chips.
Power Range
NIO EC7 is equipped with the second-generation high-efficiency electric drive platform, the motor still adopts the form of front permanent magnet and rear induction, the maximum power of the front and rear motors are 180kW and 300kW respectively, the total power of the system is 480kW, and the maximum torque reaches 850N-m, the acceleration time of 100 kilometers is 3.8 seconds, and the distance of 100-meters in braking is 33.9. Air suspension and CDC Intelligent Dynamic Damping System are standard across the board.
In terms of battery, NIO EC7 can choose different capacity power battery packs, with the standard range battery pack (75kWh) CLTC range of 490 kilometers, with the long range battery pack (100kWh) range of 635 kilometers. With the 75kWh standard range battery pack, for example, charging from 10% to 80% takes only 30 minutes. A 150kWh battery pack with a maximum range of 940 kilometers will be available in the future.
