Exterior Design
Although it is an A00-class model, Baojun KiWi EV is eye-catching in design. Extremely futuristic and technological styling design, the body adopts TWO-TONE splicing split design, the upper and lower bold color collision, layered, to create the visual effect of the suspension cockpit. In addition, the new car’s exterior adds three new body colors for consumers to choose from: mocha, twilight, and matcha.
The front face adopts the vacuum indium plating process: under high vacuum conditions, it realizes nano-scale plating, which makes the exterior dense and even, with pure metallic color and mirror-like reflection effect. Compared with the traditional water plating, the vacuum indium plating technology has no heavy metal waste water, slag and exhaust gas, which highlights the green environmental protection of new energy vehicles.
The LED headlight adopts a zigzag design, with deep “eyes” and a kind of robot’s sense of the future. The traditional center grille is replaced by a unique design of the surroundings, much like the feeling of the future automated mobility scooter in science fiction movies. Vertical turn signals on both sides also emphasize the novelty.
The side of the car is styled in a special way, unlike the usual clashing of colors, it is more like a cockpit added to the base. The hidden door handles, and the black door panels trimmed with chrome strips, ooze a distinctive technological feel.
The rear of the car is also very recognizable, the rear view window is large and transmits light well, the brake lights look cute, and the E-shaped indicator lights are on both sides, which look like robots.
Interior Design
The interior of the Baojun KiWi EV is equipped with a dual-link screen, a 10.25-inch dashboard and a 10.25-inch multimedia touch screen, which, despite being an A00-class car, does not lose out to intermediate cars in terms of multimedia configuration. The entire interior has also been redesigned and optimized to echo the personalized exterior. The new car is available in two interior color schemes, Future Silver and Star Black.
The interior is made of suede material in the main parts, and soft PU suede material is selected around the dashboard and in the touchable areas of the car such as armrests and panels, which makes the overall appearance more fashionable and does not produce the slightest feeling of cheapness.
Steering wheel with touch, button combination design, Chinese labeling out the function is very thoughtful. It is worth mentioning that the adaptive cruise control function is very easy to maneuver, only need to press the function button, you can open the cruise function, and lane keeping is also started at the same time, only need to adjust the following distance.
The full LCD instrument panel integrates driving mode, motor speed, range, navigation, entertainment display and so on. And it also displays other vehicles around you through millimeter wave radar, which is a great sense of technology.
Baojun KiWi EV’s central screen is very interesting, the left side of the 3D virtual image of human-computer interaction, can recognize the voice of the “happiness, anger, sadness and joy”, and itself will have more emotional interaction. The system provided by Tech Data Xunfei is very powerful, with features such as continuous voice recognition. In addition, the seat control, navigation, and entertainment functions are also available, which can satisfy various needs for a smart car.
Front row headroom is very spacious, tall drivers will not have any oppression, the seat is fiber + suede design, soft touch, support is also relatively good. For a substitute car, it has reached a high requirement.
The rear row is designed with double independent seats, headroom is more abundant, and passengers up to 170cm tall will get a fist of legroom. It is not difficult to sit 4 people traveling in special circumstances, for everyday 1-2 people will be very comfortable.
Both the rear seats and the passenger seat can be lowered all the way down, which will give you a very flat and large space, which is also very practical for moving things or doing short-distance transportation. In terms of design KiWi has been prepared in advance.
Intelligent Configuration
The biggest highlight of Baojun KiWi EV this time is equipped with the Linghuo Intelligent Driving System, relying on DJI’s on-board stereo binocular camera, focusing on urban driving and intelligent parking, and with the sensors to reasonably dispatch the arithmetic, to define intelligent driving by scene, especially the common urban expressway scene, urban congestion scene, diverse parking lot scene and other driving and parking lot scene. Hardware, in addition to the binocular camera, the new Baojun KiWi EV is equipped with 1 millimeter wave radar and 12 ultrasonic radar.
It is worth mentioning that the Spirit Rhinoceros Smart Driving System integrates the technical advantages of DJI’s on-board stereo binocular camera. The stereo binocular camera independently developed by DJI has the core technological advantages of stereo visual perception imaging, online self-calibration technology, and real-time online modeling of road conditions, which provides the system with stereo and accurate visual perception capabilities. At the same time, relying on DJI’s vehicle-grade domain controller and intent prediction and multimodal decision-making and control technology, the Spirit Rhinoceros Intelligent Driving System has a high degree of software and hardware co-optimization and rich peripheral expansion and integration capabilities, as well as the ability to integrate complex road conditions. It also has the advantages of user intent prediction for complex road conditions, self-learning of multiple driving styles, and full coverage of national urban road conditions.
Power Range
The 2023 KiWi EV offers a 50kW motor with a maximum torque of 150N-m and a top speed of 115km/h. Compared with the previous model, there is a considerable improvement, making it more maneuverable. The battery capacity reaches 31.9KWh, with a NEDC range of 305km, and under DC fast-charging mode, charging from 30% to 80% takes only 1 hour. In the summer 36 ° open air conditioning, the real range can reach more than 240 kilometers, which is already a very good achievement for A00-class cars.
